Chad Flack, President of Main Street Insurance Group, Inc., has been named to the Charlotte Business Journal’s 2025 class of 40 Under 40.
More than 300 young professionals were nominated for this year’s list, with the top 40 selected based on both professional success and community impact.
A celebratory dinner honoring the recipients was held Thursday, May 8, at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, NC.
When Flack was called to the stage to accept his award, event emcees read a brief bio highlighting his accomplishments. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Flack was a standout athlete on the varsity baseball team, helping lead the Tar Heels to three College World Series appearances.
Professionally, Flack has spent 15 years with Main Street Insurance Group, including a decade as an Employee Benefits consultant. Over the past five years, he has served at the executive level—first as a Partner and later being named President in 2020. Under his leadership, the firm has grown in revenue by 150%.
“I am honored and humbled to be named one of Charlotte’s 40 Under 40,” said Flack. “Without the Main Street team, there is no way I would even be considered a nominee for that recognition. I look at it as our team’s award. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a fantastic team, and I look forward to achieving more great things together in the future.”
In January 2025, Main Street Insurance Group merged with Strate Insurance Group of Morristown. Katherine Strate Smith, now a Partner at Main Street, traveled to Charlotte to celebrate her new colleague.
“It was important to me to be there in person to support Chad on his big night,” said Smith. “Our culture is about showing up for each other. We filled two tables and ‘hooped and hollered’ when Chad’s name was announced. We’re all so proud of him and his leadership. I’m proud to call him my Partner.”
The 40 Under 40 honor also takes into account personal and philanthropic contributions. Flack and his wife, Lauren, are the founders of Channing’s Joy, a nonprofit named after their oldest son, Channing, who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in 2018. The organization is dedicated to promoting inclusion and acceptance for individuals with special needs.
Since its founding just five years ago, Channing’s Joy has raised more than $500,000 for autism awareness and support. Every dollar goes directly to families and organizations working to make a more inclusive world.
