Strate Insurance Group, Inc is an independent insurance agency founded in 1978 by Jack and Tom Strate (father and son). We have always offered family and business insurance, as well as employee group benefits, and we recently started offering a wide array of financial services products as well.

Some of our specialties include, home insurance, auto insurance, boat insurance, life insurance, brewery insurance, non-profit insurance, and dental practice insurance. Over the years our team has grown from a team of 2, to a team of 20, proudly serving the Tennessee area in Morristown, Knoxville and the Tri-Cities.

At Strate Insurance Group, Inc, we have an independent spirit. This is in our business, but also very cultural to East Tennessee. We take a lot of pride in the work we do, how we help and serve our clients, and how we take care of each other as colleagues.

We are an independent, Trusted Choice (C) insurance agency providing quality personal and business insurance, financial services and employee benefits at a fair price. Our professional team develops long-term relationships by recommending appropriate risk solutions to our individual and corporate clients in East Tennessee and across the country. We deliver consultative, knowledge-based service to our clients, and build partnerships with financially secure insurance companies.

Our History

Jack Strate, Tom Strate and Agnes Strate founded Jack Strate Agency, Inc. in 1978. From the beginning, the Jack Strate Agency provided property and casualty and life, health and disability insurance to local families and businesses. Due to natural growth and the acquisition of the George F. Smith Insurance Agency, the agency was re-named Strate Insurance Group, Inc. in 1993. In 2012, Strate Insurance Group acquired the assets of the Morristown and Knoxville offices of Wells Fargo.

Our Community Involvement

We are heavily involved in our communities in Morristown and around East Tennessee. We serve on boards, volunteer and actively participate in community events.

About the Way We Do Business

We aren’t just insurance agents. We are insurance advisors. When we work with our customers,

we help them identify and analyze risks they may or may not be aware of and offer various risk mitigation solutions.

We work hard to develop trusted relationships with our clients so that when questions arise, we are one of the first advisors they call. Not all relationships start at the trusted advisor level, and we know we have to work hard to get there. We have some customers who have chosen to keep a relationship with us for over 40 years. We know there are choices in this marketplace, and we are honored our clients choose to work with us.
