We’re hiring! New Business Insurance Support Specialist Position Open

Strate Insurance Group is looking for an experienced Business Insurance Support Specialist to serve and attend to our growing book of business customers. If you like digging into details, find gratification in accuracy, love to learn, and enjoy making a larger team successful, this could be the role for you.

In this role, you’ll work alongside other Business Insurance Support Associates to service the day-to-day needs of our business customers. You will work with our Business Insurance Account Managers to learn our customers’ businesses, their policies, and provide proactive, attentive, accurate, and efficient service.

Our hope is you will have a basic knowledge of business insurance principles when you start. Over time and with a proven track record of success, we hope to promote you into a Business Insurance Account Manager position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You keep our clients covered throughout the year by:

  • Processing changes in coverage within established guidelines
  • Preparing Insurance Binders, Certificates, Evidence of Insurance and Auto ID Cards within established guidelines
  • Maintaining current, accurate, and complete client files; documenting service issues, visits, phone calls, conversations, payments, etc. within established guidelines
  • Preparing correspondence to clients and insurance companies

 

You present our clients to the insurance marketplace by:

  • Preparing New Business Proposals and Renewal Coverage Summaries under the direction of Account Managers
  • Preparing Renewal Marketing Files including, but not limited to, preparing a summary of insurance, gathering loss runs, gathering relevant supplemental applications, preparing experience mod worksheets, filling out Acord applications, and requesting carrier underwriter requirements
  • Reviewing policy renewals and endorsements for accuracy and premium changes; inputting data/documents in the agency management system

 

You keep our business in good health by:

  • Receiving and documenting premium payments and forwarding them to Insurance Companies by mail or upload
  • Responding to questions from Account Executives/Managers, clients, and insurance companies
  • Reviewing and processing incoming mail/ download reports as assigned
  • Providing front desk, telephone, and inter-department support for team members during absences
  • Learning and complying with our Agency Errors and Omissions guidelines
  • Maintaining In and Out cash drawer
  • Performing all other duties as assigned
  • Acting ethically in all aspects of your role

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Property and Casualty Insurance License required (Tennessee preferred)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associates Degree required
  • Two (2) years’ experience in customer service
  • Excellent communication skills including professional grammar, writing skills, and telephone skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or similar field
  • Experience working with AMS360 software
  • Five (5) years’ experience in business insurance customer service
  • Previously earned an insurance designation such as CISR, CIC, or something similar

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Frequently sit, stand and walk
  • Regularly required to talk or hear
  • Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This position does not require any travel time.
